Mama Cod Gin Tasting
Another mid-week, another gin tasting. Nick Widley and the team at Mama Cod (now called Eight Plates)put on a wonderful evening. Treated to a sloe gin cocktail on arrival, the attendees also tasted five different gins from the Giesen stable. To accompany the gin, a range of delicious finger food.
Nick gave an excellent opening welcome, including the history of gin and the various methods used to make traditional and contemporary gins.
Nick has a few nights you won’t want to miss, including the king of gins, Simon Ford, in town for a talk and tasting of some amazing gins. Then, over at Kismet at the end of August, there’s going to be a Strange Nature Night. Think freaky fairground attractions with gin tasting, which promises to be a spectacular evening.
